social transport

The Vou – Social Transport project was created taking into account the mobility difficulties of participants from social institutions, who most need transport.

The Daniel Franco Institute took the initiative to establish partnerships with them, ensuring safe and efficient transport, aiming at the common good of society.

It will work as follows:

  • A van and a driver will be made available to transport up to 16 people (maximum capacity) to the institution;
  • Trips must be pre-booked;
  • The driver will accompany the round trip, providing safe and efficient transport for those involved;
  • Only trips will be made between small towns and remote neighborhoods, with a radius of 100km from the Municipality of Uberaba;

First steps:

  • Designate a driver with timetable availability;
  • Enable/train the driver to always be courteous, present the VOU project and the Daniel Franco Institute;
  • Establish partnerships with institutions;
  • Designate a person responsible for scheduling;
  • Driver's uniforms;
  • Driver's badge;

Action trigger:

Due to the fact that the IDF is immersed and strictly linked to the communities, the need for transport from small satellite towns to the city of Uberaba was identified. A fact that is proven when a group of people, with low income, need to move to the polo city (Uberaba) seeking medical care, culture and leisure, among other various social needs.

Solid Arguments:

Facilitate the transfer of society, which has several needs, such as:

  • A nursing home needs to undergo routine exams in Uberaba and does not have the funds to move all the patients in the clinic;
  • Football schools in poor communities that need to transport their students safely;
  • Hemodialysis patients, who need to come regularly to the Polo city for treatment;

Stakeholders:

A concept created in the 1980s by the American philosopher Robert Edward Freeman, the stakeholder is any individual or organization that, in some way, is impacted by the actions of a certain company. In a free translation into Portuguese, the term means interested party.

Those interested in the project would be:

Sports schools:  Aiming at low-income children who are part of free sports programs.

Local Churches, without distinction of worship:  Aiming at the social actions that these institutions do to contribute to society.

Orphanages:  Seeking care for children and adolescents who depend on the assistance of organizations and who do not have the opportunity and access to cultural and sporting events.

Home for the Elderly:  Aiming at their need for transport to attend and other eventualities.

Cities Close to Uberaba – 100 km radius:  Aiming at the need they have to travel to Uberaba, when they need assistance or any other eventuality.
